Original papers filed in equity proceedings. All equity cases are docketed and the papers filed. Equity cases involving real property (land) are also recorded into bound record books in accordance to law. The papers associated with recorded equity are filed by the book and page number in which it is recorded. All other equity is unrecorded meaning the case is not recorded into a bound record book and is filed alphabetically by plaintiff prior to 1900. Beginning in 1900 all cases are filed by case number.

To locate a case file search the defendant's name in the (Equity Docket, Index, CM1295) then locate the docket and page given for the particular case. The (Equity Docket A, T55) will give a case summary and list the book and page of a recorded case (Equity Record, T466).

Inventory for papers relating to recorded equity begin at item 1034, box 964. (Note: that while an effort has been made to identify the range of contents of each box in the series, the series remains unprocessed and it may be necessary to check the box before and after a given box when records cannot be located.)
