Position Identification Number (PIN) is a number assigned to each permanent position in State government. The numbers run numerically but not all numbers are assigned to the State Archives. Separate file folder for each number assigned to the State Archives. Each folder contains copies of MS 310 forms (i. e. personnel transactions forms, which are used to appoint a person to a permanent State position) for the employee(s) who have occupied the posiiton or who are currently occupying the position. The MS 310 form includes employee's full name, SSN, date of hire, starting salary, subsequent reclassifications or promotions, termination date, accounting information and appointment of replacement.
