Series Description
Proceedings of the circuit court of Maryland including dates of
sessions, names of presiding judges, judgments and orders of the
court on litigation heard, and correspondence. Also includes some
naturalization proceedings, admissions of attorneys to practice
before the court, names of jurors, findings and verdicts of
juries, procedural rules and regulations, and appointments of
court officials. Subjects include neutrality, quasi-war with
France during Adams's administration, embargo during Jefferson's
administration, evasion of customs duties, mutinies and revolts,
slavery, protection of patents, suspension of habeas corpus
during the Civil War, and voting rights enforcement during
Reconstruction. Arranged chronologically by date of session.
