Series Description
Electronic index to plats in state and county records, created from a card index that is not comprehensive. Over time Archives' staff members have prepared index cards when plats were encountered during research. Entries give names of tracts, lots, and individuals; date; nature of the record; and citation. Arranged alphabetically by names of tracts, lots, and individuals. Provides references to the following state agency records: Chancery Court (Chancery Record) in series S517, Maryland Survey Papers (Division Plats) in series S65, and Land Office (Caveat Papers) in series S5. Some plats are found in Special Collections. Some entries refer to (Plats from Land Commissions) in series C2818 and C2819, (Land Commissions) in series C707 and C708, (Land Commission Papers) in series C706, (Judgment Record) in series C704, and (Land Records) in series C710 and C711.
