Series Description
Record of admissions to state-sponsored institutions for blind or deaf students. Volume for 1828-1889 includes warrants for both blind and deaf individuals. Entries consist of name, county, age, date of warrant, and expiration of school term. Also contains correspondence from various agencies including Pennsylvania Institution for the Instruction of the Blind and the Pennsylvania Institution for the Instruction of the Deaf and Dumb. Other two volumes include only warrants for Maryland School for the Blind. Entries in those volumes consist of warrant number, date issued, name, age, residence, length of school, beginning date, and agency issuing certificate. Latter two volumes arranged chronologically. Volume for 1828-1889 indexed topically.
