CARROLL COUNTY
CIRCUIT COURT
(State Road Property Plan Book)
1964
C2434
Series Description
Plats of lands through which would pass new or substantially
relocated state and interstate highways. The documents show the
outlines of the entire properties, names of the owners, and
locations of the rights of way being acquired through the lands.
The State Roads Commission prepared these plans from the best
available data that might include deed information, field
topography, or actual surveys. The records were designed to
display pictorially the rights of way in relation to the rest of
the owners' lands, where metes and bounds and survey plats were
not filed. The plats are large, approximately 24" x 30", filed in
one volume, and contain color. They are grouped by construction
project number and then by sheet number, i.g. 1 of 4. The
Archives will create an electronic finding aid from the records
themselves.
