The county copies of survey, easement, and subdivision plats, filed with the circuit court since 1941, and condominium plats, filed since 1990. The documents are affixed to pages in plat books, usually arranged by filing date, and referenced with book and page numbers. Volumes 1-12, covering 1941-1979, are maintained at the Archives; the rest remain at the courthouse. The plats in the first twelve books are folded, if oversize, and glued or taped to the pages. Filing dates, when recorded, are stamped on the plats. Cross references to any land records associated with the plats are noted near, but not on, the documents. The file number shown on many plats refers to the filing system used by the surveyor preparing the records. The plats in this series will be used to supplement (Subdivision Plats, SO) in series S1253 as needed to fill in gaps or provide more complete or clearer copies. The records dated before June 1, 1945 will be scanned only within this series C2408. Records for 1941-1955 are also available on film, done by the Land Office, in series CM961. Access available in electronic form, created from (Plat Book, Index) in series C2405. In 1975 eighteen plats, dating between 1818 and 1903, were removed from land record books and placed in volume 10. Only one of these documents is included in the index in C2405, and none were given plat book cross references in the land records. These eighteen plats will be included in (Plats from Land Records) in series C2409 and C2410 that also contain the survey, easement, and subdivision plats filed for recording prior to 1941.
