Right of way plats for state and federal roads, filed on aperture cards by the State Highway Administration. The records are arranged by route number when this information is known, otherwise by contract number. The documents show the proposed routes of the roads and contain plat and contract numbers assigned by the highway administration. Plats prior to 1975 are found in (State Road Plat Book) in series C2360 and in (Plats) in series C1741. Since October 1, 2002, the records are filed electronically with the Maryland State Archives as (State Road Plats) in series S1742. The Archives will create an electronic finding aid from the records themselves.
