Series Description
Electronic index that provides references to (Plats from Land Records) in series C2349 and C2350, (Plats from Judgments) in series C2351 and C2352, (Plats) in series C2343 and C1741, (Plat Book) in series C2348, and (Subdivision Plats) in series C2346. In addition, the entries will serve as an authority file for (Subdivision Plats, AL) in series S1234. The listings, derived from volumes, are arranged alphabetically by tract or subdivision name, and sometimes an individual. The first volume, covering 1792-1947 and available on film in series CM26 and CM340, contains entries organized within several categories including county lands, Cumberland, other specified municipalities, streets, railroads and companies, military lots, and roads. Entries provide names of the landowners and tracts or subdivisions, descriptions, and references. The second volume, covering 1947-1992, contains entries arranged alphabetically by names of tracts or subdivisions and landowners. A second column furnishes the citations. Neither book gives recording dates. Indexing for plats filed since 1992 can be found in the Judicial Information System (JIS).
