Plats of lands through which would pass new or substantially relocated state and federal highways. The documents show the outlines of the entire properties, names of the owners, and locations of the rights of way being acquired through the lands. The State Roads Commission prepared these plans from the best available data that might include deed information, field topography, or actual surveys. The records were designed to display pictorially the rights of way in relation to the rest of the owners' lands, where metes and bounds and survey plats were not filed. The records are derived from House Joint Resolution 36, Acts of 1963. The plats are large, approximately 24" x 30", filed in one volume, and contain color. They are grouped by construction project number and then by sheet number, i.g. 1 of 4. Access available in electronic form derived from the records themselves.
