Series Description
Survey, easement, and subdivision plats recorded in land record books. The Land Office filmed the plats dating from 1791 through 1955, now found in series CM1454 and CM1455. The original volumes of (Land Records) are included in series C523 and on film in series CM247 and CM246. Access available in electronic form, derived from (Plats, Index) in series C547 and C548 and (Plats on Microfilm, CA) in series S1534, supplemented by the records themselves. After 1963 most survey plats are found in (Plat File) in series C2254. After 1981 most subdivision plats at the county level are found in (Plat Book) in series C2255 and at the state level in (Subdivision Plats, CA) in series S1238. Subdivision plats after 1945 in series C2249 will be used to supplement S1238 as needed to fill in gaps or provide more complete or clearer copies.
