Series Description
Right of way plats for state and federal roads, filed by the State Highway Administration. Instead of being bound in books, the records were folded and filed loose. This series includes land acquisition plats filed in court cases designed to facilitate the condemnation of land for roads and the payments to land owners. The records require conservation in order to flatten the documents. Access available in electronic form derived from the records themselves. Between 1932 and 1971 the road plats were maintained in books in series C2226 and between 1990 and 2002 as aperture cards in series C2232. Since October 1, 2002, the records are filed electronically with the Maryland State Archives as (State Road Plats) in series S1742.
