Right of way plats for state and federal roads, filed by the State Highway Administration. The records show the proposed road, names of landowners affected by the right of way, surveyors certificate, state contract number, and file date. The records are filed loose in no particular sequence. The sizes vary, with most measuring 29.5" x 13.5". Future plans include making access available in electronic form. Copies of some of these plats can be found in (Land Acquisition Papers) 1956-1978 [MSA C2163]. This series consists of court case files designed to facilitate the condemnation of land for roads and the payments to land owners. Plats from these files may be used to produce digital images as supplements to C2162 to fill in gaps or provide more complete or clearer copies.
