Series Description
Record of proceedings of commissioners appointed by the court to
perpetuate or restore land boundaries, 1716-1817, to divide or
sell inherited land, 1795-1852, and to lay out public roads or
landings, 1837-1844. Land boundary documents usually consist of
petitions, court orders, oaths of commissioners, depositions, and
commission reports, but only a few surveys and plats. Estate
proceedings contain petitions, court orders, oaths of
commissioners, and commission reports which usually include
surveys and plats. Road and landing records consist of petitions,
court orders, oaths of commissioners, and commission reports
which usually include surveys and plats. Also available on film
in series CM845 and CM1389.
