The county copies of survey, easement, and subdivision plats, filed with the circuit court between 1933 and 1949 and since November 1993. The earlier set of documents were recorded in two plat books and filmed by the Land Office in 1949, now part of series CM358. The clerk's office continued to use plat books, that beginning in 1972 included condominiums, until November 1993. To alleviate space problems and facilitate copying of oversize materials, the court switched to a system of maintaining plats on aperture cards. All plats recorded in the plat books were filmed and placed on aperture cards. Then the original documents were destroyed. Plats filed since November 1993 continue to receive book and page references, but the record copies at the courthouse exist only on aperture cards provided from the originals by the Archives. The Archives uses series C2125 to process these originals, that also include final development plats. For the plats imaging system this series will encompass the documents found in the first two books, covering 1933-1949, and those recorded since November 1993. Plats filed between June 1945 and November 1993 are included in (Subdivision Plats, HO) in series S1247 and (Plat Book, Aperture Cards) in series C2466. Plats filed between 1933 and 1975 also available on film in (Plat Book, Microfilm) in series C2847. Development plats prior to January 2000 exist in (Final Development Plats, Aperture Cards) in series C2474.
