Original papers filed for land commission proceedings and then recorded in (Land Commissions) in series C1423. Commissioners were appointed by the court to perpetuate or restore land boundaries and to divide or sell inherited land. Land boundary documents usually consist of petitions, court orders, oaths of commissioners, depositions, and commission reports, but only a few surveys and plats. Estate proceedings contain petitions, court orders, oaths of commissioners, and commission reports which usually include surveys and plats. This series, consisting of 165 folders, will be used to supplement C1423 as needed to fill in gaps or provide more complete or clearer copies.
