Series Description
Collection of legacy indexes used to access information in Baltimore City Archives' collections. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) performed a Historical Records Survey (HRS) on all Baltimore City Archives' records in the 1930s and produced some of these indexes. In the 1980s, the archives were reorganized into Record Groups (RG or BRG) by creator, city agency, department, topic, or function. This group also includes a guide that translates the WPA system of cataloging (chronological and numerical) into the current Record Group structure.
