Edward Spencer, ed., An Account of the Municipal Celebration of the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Settlement of Baltimore October 11th-19th, 1880, With a Sketch of the History, and Summary of the Resources of the City (Baltimore: Mayor and City Council, 1881) is a full account of the celebration.

These records relate to the involvement of the municipal government in the celebration and include printed rules, circulars, invitations, programs, tickets, and parade routes; examples of official stationary; the October 11, 1880 issue of the Baltimore Sesquicentennial Record; the October 11, 1880 issue of the Sesquicentennial Journal; a manuscript survey of hotels and residences for accomodations including names, addresses, rate, potential accomodation capacities, and miscellaneous comments; manuscript list of persons who can accomodate clubs and bands; September 27, 1880 letter of Mayor Ferdinand Latrobe to John Thomas Scharf offering him a position on the governing municipal committee for the celebration; and a printed map of the city distributed by Phillips Brothers and Company (see oversize file).
