JOHN CARROLL BYRNES, Associate Judge, Baltimore City Circuit Court, 8th Judicial Circuit, from 1982 to January 15, 2002. Retired January 15, 2002. Member, State Senate, representing District 44 (Baltimore City), 1971-82.

Biographical sketch
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, September 1, 1939. Attended Baltimore City parochial schools. Served in U.S. Army. Loyola College, B.S., 1961; University of Georgia; The Johns Hopkins University; University of Maryland School of Law, J.D., 1966. President, Student Bar Association, 1965-66. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1966. Private practice, 1966-82. Member, Maryland State and Baltimore City Bar Associations. Past member, Citizens' Commission on Maryland Government. Advisory Board, Baltimore Neighborhoods, Inc.; Baltimore Choral Arts Society; Maryland Center for Character Education. Past vice-president, Loyola College Alumni Assoc. Adjunct faculty, Morgan State University, College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Loyola College of Maryland, University of Baltimore. Secretary and board member, The Baltimore Courthouse and Law Museum Foundation, Inc. President, Baltimore City Historical Society.
