This collection is composed entirely of digitized microfilm of various editions from various cities. Locations include: Baltimore, Washington, Philadephia, New Jersy (Newark), and Richmond. The National Edition is also featured. The microfilm was borrowed temporarily from several local institutions for this project.

The City Archives holds neither the microfilm nor any original copies of the Afro-American newspaper.
